Figured I'd practice some more trees, fences etc... Getting better with the pine trees over all. Also tried some distant trees. They came out better than they have previous when I've tried, but still not where I'd like them to be.

Abstractification Part 2
My mother wanted one more painting. Figured I'd get that done today. Painted this to go with her other one. Again, looks better in person. I wasn't a big fan of this one, but she loves it so whatever makes you happy :)

The Country Road
I decided today I'd try something without mountains or still water. I wanted practice on things I wasn't very good at such as trees, bushes, and long grass :) I did my clouds with the 2 inch brush. I believe I got to much paint on the brush initially, cause they came out looking like cotton balls. But, they were decent. Initially I was going to try and put a stream in there, but decided against it later on in the process.
After laying out the highlights I attempted to put some dark paint on, to make the river bed, but ended up screwing up my stream edges. And due to the fact I layed out all my painting in one shot, just decided to scratch the stream plan and go with trying to make a road instead. The road ended up looking like crap, but with a little finessing it started to look less horrible.
Here I layed in my background color. Still had my stream in mind at that point.
Next I attempted a fence. The posts came out way to thick, and my highlighting and wire sucked on the first couple posts. But hey, I gave it a shot ;)
All in all a decent effort. It was fun, if nothing else.

Black Canvas
Started out by painting the white canvas with acrylic black gesso. Let that dry, then painted over it.
I finally figured out how to make my green pop, and that would be to just use yellow, the darker color under it will turn it green. So it actually turned out pretty decent this painting. For my first experience painting on the black canvas, I liked it. Definatley going to attempt it again in the future.

Black Canvas
I think for my next one I'm going to try using a black canvas. I've heard they can come out pretty cool. I figured I'd go with the do it yourself route, so I coated a 16 X 24 inch canvas with black gesso. I used a foam brush to put it on, definatly glad I did as that stuff dries quickly :) We'll see how it goes this weekend.
