I really didn't feel like painting this morning as I got up a bit late. But decided to do it anyways.

So here we go.

I was in the mood for a purple sky, so I made it so.

I spent quite a bit of time doing clouds. It adds a bit of depth. Actually looks a lot better in person.

Started in on the mountains.



Pretty crazy range. Not my favorite, but atleast it was a big complex to work with.

Next we are half way through highlights.

Now completely.

I always seem to forget steps. Inbetween layers you're supposed to tap and then lift upwards to create misty layers that are used for seperation. I remembered the tap, but no the lift upwards :) Ooops.  I corrected it later.

At this point I was kinda lost. I could do foothills till the cows come home, but honestly I'm kinda sick of them. Decided to go for some bushes which I suck at. But it's something different so WOOT.

They didn't turn out to bad. So you'll have to forgive me at this point. I kinda got carried away and didn't take pictures of each step. But basically I did some more land, a couple pine trees. Filled in the entire water area with blue and decided to do a waterfall.  Since the trees went over well in the last painting I decided to add some to this one. So we skip pretty much to the finished product.

Summing it up

Did'nt do any new paintings today. Got lazy. But, I did make this collage. It's crazy to think i've done this many, and only since the first of the year!

Overall I'm pretty happy with my progress. It's all about the journey ;)

The 4rth

So I was to lazy to paint yesterday. Woke up early enough today to get a move on things.

I was going for a sunset type painting, but I got to much blue in the sky and not enough red. So its barely noticable.

I decided to put a bunch of mountains in this one as I liked the last one I did that had a crapload of them.

I was pretty pleased with them at this point.

Highlighting wasn't my strong suite today. But in the end they ended up looking decent. These pics put to much glare and not enough contrast, so just know they look better than this ;)

Yea...Moving on.

Went for some foothills and distant trees which you'll see in a sec.

Next came the closer foothills, I was trying to keep the sheen accross the water. But I had ADD moments, so not sure how well I achieved that goal :)

Had to have a pine tree or two in there.

Honestly I had no idea how to tie the front of this painting together. So I just went for something.

Alright...Sticks and twigs and grass. Woo hoo. It needed something. Eh, why not go all out and screw it up by putting a couple trees in the front? Never tried them before.

At this point I was just grinnin ear to ear because I love the way those trees came out. I was actually pretty happy with the way things were coming out.
