I decided to try out a little wilder mountain pattern this time. I felt confident enough it would come out looking decent in the end.
Halfway through the mountain highlights. I was pretty pleased thus far.
I believe these are the best mountains I've ever done, not just straight shots, really a range that had a bit of interesting things going on.
Next I went for some way distant foothils with a lavender color, and then a bit darked in front for the way distant pine trees.
I've become a lot happier with my pine trees so I figured I'd give them another shot.
After they were all put in.
The beginnings of more land masses.
I wasn't quite as interested in the water lines this time. But I put a few in.
I decided to put some stones in the water, wasn't super happy with them because the color I used was to light. I added a bit darker on for some of them. Haven't done those before. Also put some more grass.
I added a couple sticks and twigs in there and called it finished. Overall I was real happy with the mountains, clouds, distant trees, distant foothill, the furthest pine trees and the water color on the right hand side. I didn't like the closest land masses as much, and I need to thin my paint a bit more before trying to highlight the pine trees. Overall I was pretty happy with it.
